The costs of infrastructure are likely to replace the cost of energy. The infrastructure is and will continue to be the expensive part of the bill. The operating utility still needs to pay increasingly higher wages, health care, retirement plans and benefits to the laborers involved in maintaining and upgrading a grid to utilize that free green energy. This would also ignore all the infrastructure that connects generation to customers and the cost associated with that infrastructure. The way of thinking of this is that if you had to pay for your own off-grid generation in terms of grid prices, renewable energy would be far cheaper than another form of generation. ![]() ![]() In the race to carbon neutral and green energy, it's very possible that we'll reach a point where is electrical generation is nearly free, minus the repayment of project investment. ![]()
